Robert was born in Keppel Township to John McLean and Mary Jane McMillan (McLean). After the death of his mother his father remarried. He was a great outdoors man and spent much of his life as a guide for hunters in the Kenora and Sualt Ste. Marie area of Ontario. He married Mary (Maggie) May Ransome and they had five children ...... Florance, Gladys, Clarence, Viney Mildred, & Margaret.
