Mr. J. HERMAN HARSHMAN, 77, of 103 E. Main St., Middletown, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at Meridian Nursing Center, Frederick. He was the husband of Elsie Dutrow Harshman, who predeceased him on march 17, 1980. Born March 2, 1905 near Ellerton, he was a son of the late John F. and Annie Harshman.
He was employed as an electrician by Donald W. Guyton, Middletown, until his retirement. He was a member of the Myersville Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Watkins of Clarksburg; Mrs. Nancy Reeder, Middletown; and Mrs. Patricia Naugle, Frederick; a son, John H. Harshman, Woodbridge, Va.; two sisters, Miss Ruth Harshman, Boonsboro; and Mrs. Louise Guyton, Burkittsville; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown; interment in Pleasant View Church of the Brethren cemetery, Burkittsville.
