sla Abney of Bismarck, Missouri, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the age of 94. She was born on August 12, 1910 at Courtois, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Daniel and Lillie (Woffard) Evans; her husband, Grayfer Abney; three brothers, Ralph, Reldon and Eldon Evans and five sisters, Clara Bentley, Dona Mae Cook, Gladys Buxton, Ardell Garvin and Glenda Walls.

Isla is survived by three daughters, Pauline Abney and Charlotte Abney of Bismarck and Freda Mae Merideth of St. Clair; a brother, Dale Evans and wife Katie of Camenton, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Irma Evans and June Evans. She is also survived by grandchildren, James Thomas Merideth and his wife Lan of Columbia, South Carolina and Rene Merideth of Los Angeles, California; great-grandchildren, Quang Merideth, Jimmy Merideth and Jaimie Merideth and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.in the Britton Chapel, Potosi. Serving as pallbearers were: John Blackwell, Walter Shelton, Nelson Sinclair, Devound Abney, Kenneth Abney and Robert Abney. Honorary pallbearers were: James Thomas Merideth, Jr., and Rene Merideth.

Interment was in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi.
