Helen Sweeney
Miss Helen N. Sweeney, formerly of 25 Orchard St., Trucksville, died Tuesday at the home of her brother, Thomas B. Sweeney, in Leesburg, Va. She was born in Ashley, daughter of the late William H. and Anne Coyle Sweeney.
She was a graduate of Mount St. Mary's Seminary, Scranton, and was employed as a secretary for the Jersey Central Railroad for many years.
She was a former member of St. Theresa's Church, Shavertown.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs. Mary MacNelis, and Sister Jule Nazarius (sic), and brother, William.
She is survived in addition to her brother, by a nephew, William J. MacNelis, of Arlington, Va.
Funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the McLaughlin Funeral Home, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 at St. Mary's Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call today 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations, if desired. may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
