Matilda Copley
Matilda Sandusky was born in Morgan County Aug. 20, 1840, and departed this life Sunday, Aug. 19, 1900. She was married to Napolean Copley Jan. 1, 1863. To this union were born six children: Laura A. Adams, of near Lynnville; William O., of this city; Mary Alice, who died in infancy; Cora B. Rice, of Waggoner; George W., of Springfield, and Bea, of this city. She united with the Baptist church in Greene county at the age of 18. After moving four miles north of Waverly she united with the M. E. church at Little York in 1886. Funeral services were held at the family residence Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. G. E. Burton, assisted by Revs. Black and Bugby, with interment in East cemetery.
