W. O. Copley, former resident of Waverly, who has resided in Springfield for about 35 years, died suddenly at his residence Thursday night, June 4, at the age of 71 years. Death was due to a heart attack.
Mr. Copey was born in Waverly, January 2, 1865. Until his retirement from active life about four years ago, he was employed as a grocery clerk in Springfield.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha; one step-son, Clyde Smith, of Des Plaines; one brother, George, of Los Angeles, Calif; and two sisters, Mrs. Laura Adams of Jacksonville, and Mrs. J. O. McVey, of Banff, Ontario, Canada.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Springfield, and the body brought to Waverly for burial in East cemetery.
