FRANCES WEDEGARTNER

Frances Wedegartner, 78, recently of Whitelaw, died Friday morning, March 6, 1992, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.

The former Frances Meidl was born July 15, 1913, in Whitelaw, daughter of the late Blasius and Mary (née Zipperer) Meidl. She attended St. Michael Grade School.

On February 18, 1938, she married William H. Wedegartner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple moved to Manistique, Michigan where they operated The Manistique Flora Company from 1949 until 1971, and have been Whitelaw residents since 1971. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society.

Survivors include her husband, William; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William L. of Manistique, MIchigan, Paul P. and JoAnn of Iron River, Michigan; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Davidson of Waterford, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Julie and Guy Wedegartner, Holly Steele, Mari Jo Stewart, Michael, Patrick and Kevin Davidson; a great grandson, Kyle Stewart; a brother and a sister-in-law, Rudolph and Shirley Meidl of Whitelaw; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Irene Wolff of Sturgeon Bay, Thecla and Walter Bentley of Manitowoc, Hildegarde and Frank Kaderabek of Branch, Ann and Robert Schindhelm of Fremont, Ethel Stiesvater of Bakersfield, California.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister-in-law, and two brothers-in-law.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw, preceded by family rites at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.
