Amelia (Emily) Wheeler, age 87, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2005, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
She was born July 1, 1918, in Newtonburg, daughter of the late Xavier and Ella Poklinkowski Pozorski.
On Nov. 27, 1948, she married George Wheeler at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Amelia was employed at various manufacturing companies, most recently at Jagemann Stamping Company, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include her husband: George Wheeler; a daughter and son-in-law: Angie and Mickey Lillibridge; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Art Wheeler, Al and Nancy Wheeler, all of Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren: Aaron (Lauri) Lillibridge, Joe (Jessie) Lillibridge, Michelle Lillibridge, Andy Wheeler, all of Manitowoc: Sarah Wheeler, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Sean (Angie) Littlefield, Manitowoc; Emmy Wheeler, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Kristin Wheeler, Chandler, Ariz.; Rebecca Wheeler, Manitowoc; Stephanie Wheeler, Manitowoc; and three sisters-in-law. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 p.m., Friday until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Dave Jagemann with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, for their compassionate care and support given to Amelia and her family. Amelia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, and in 1994 was baptized in Lake Michigan as a public testimony of her faith. The family takes comfort in the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:8, To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
