Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Kathrine Schafer, 93, a resident of the Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 23 in the Davis Funeral Home in LaGrange by the Rev. Robert Gail Woods. Burial was in the Memorial Cemetery at LaGrange.
Mrs. Schafer formerly of LaGrange died at 7:10 a.m. Friday, February 21 in the home.
Mrs. Schafer was born May 28, 1892 at Hastings, Neb., a daughter of William and Elizabeth Bick Reiter. She married Pete Schafer in 1916 in Monticello. He died October 1976. Mrs. Schafer was a member of the United Methodist Church of LaGrange.
Surviving are a son, Martin Schafer of LaGrange; a grandson, Ray Schafer of LaGrange; a granddaughter, Anne Schafer of Quincy; and a great-granddaughter, Rachele Schafer of Palmyra.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter.
