Oscar Roy Reiter, 93, of Canton, died at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday (May 3, 1978) in a rest home in Lewistown. Mr. Reiter was born Aug. 11, 1884, in Canton, a son of William and Elizabeth Beck Reiter. He married Cornelia May Hetzler, July 8, 1906, in Monticello. She died June 20, 1977. He was a retired farmer and was employed by Culver-Stockton College until his retirement. He was a member of the Canton Christian Church, Craft Lodge 287, AF&AM, Canton Chaper 88 Royal Arch Masons, Canton Chaper OES and served as Rainbow "dad" for Canton Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls, until his illness. Surviving are a son, W. L. of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Addie Schaffer of Lewistown; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Barkely-Davis Funeral Chapel in Canton conducted by the Rev. Dann Masden. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Canton Christian Church.
