Effie Varner Keith, of Hixson, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013.
Effie was born and has been a lifelong resident of the Hixson area. She retired from Signal Apparel and was a member of Hixson Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene R. Keith; her parents, Pearl and Will Varner and three siblings, Terrell Varner, Glenn "Buck" Varner and Jessie Grant.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Nancy) Card and Carolyn (Robert) Sands; three grandchildren, Dale Sands, Evan (Oanh) Sands and Angela Card; siblings, Dorine Blancett and Edra Jeter; great granddaughters, Julia Sands and Summer Griffith; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday and 12 to 1 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel.
Services for Effie will be held at 1 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
