Nic Mousel passed away at his home at 6 o'clock Tuesday evening. He had been in a critical condition most of the time for the past four weeks and his death was not unexpected.
Mr. Mousel was born April 23, 1861, in Jackson county, Iowa. He had been engaged in the blacksmithing business in Hartley for many years and was well known and liked by everybody. He was kind-hearted and no one ever asked a favor that was not cheerfully granted. His death is regretted by all.
He leaves a wife and one son besides a host of friends and other relatives. The funeral was held from the German Lutheran church this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30, the services being in charge of the pastor. Rev. Vehe.
