Samuel Bond was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Beals) Bond. He was born 12th of 4th mo 1786. On the 22d of 6th mo 1808 he married, at Westfield Friends Meeting, Surry Co., NC, Charity Beeson. They left North Carolina about 1810 for Ohio, and in 1815 moved further west to Indiana. Samuel was active in the affairs of the Friends meetings to which he belonged. In 1823 he was appointed overseer for the New Garden Friends Meeting, Wayne Co., IN. By 1836 the Dover Friends Meeting had been set off from New Garden and Samuel was was appointed to a committee in that year. Samuel and his wife were the parents of nine children.
