A life resident of Plains, he was the son of the late Vincent and Constance Ornoski Starzynski.
He was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1947, and received a certificate in engineering from Penn State University.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict, receiving an Acknowledgement of Thanks from the People's Republic of Korea, the 50th Anniversary Korean War Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
Mr. Starzynski was a member of the Parish Community of Sacred Heart/St. Joseph's Church, Plains Township.
Before retiring, he was employed by Liberty Throwing Company of Kingston. He was a 57-year member of the Plains American Legion, Joseph E. Conlon Post 558, and a board member of the Home Association. Mr. Starzynski was also a member of the Polish American Club, the Polish Club, Henry Citizens Club and Triangle Club. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 102; the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 00283 and served on the board of the Plains Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond and Daniel; sisters, Irene Slabinski and Isabel Krenchicki.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Jean Adams; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Hudson section of Plains Township.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
