Born 1757.

Jonathan Inggs had a short masonic career of only 14 years, at the end of which he was honoured not only by his own Lodge of Economy, but also by the neighbouring Royal Gloucester and the new daughter Lodge - Peace & Harmony. Proposed for the purpose of becoming Tyler his masonry was orientated to service throughout. As Tyler he was invariably at his post for the two years till the Lodge moved and other arrangements were made. Thereafter he rose to be J.W., but never aspired to the highest office. Even so, until the very end there was scarcely a meeting at which Brother Inggs did not fill some office or function. Perhaps this history of modest unassuming service is the clue to the esteem in which he was obviously held by his brethren. Here is an example for us to ponder upon, and in this rapidly changing world it is to be hoped that the stone long remain in position to remind the passing masons of Jonathan Inggs.
--contemporary record.
