Deep sadness returned to the family home of Conrad Merkel at the county border, east of the city last Sunday morning by the wife and mother being completed in eternity. The deceased was born 27 August 1860, in Manitowoc County, and was therefore 49 years old. With her husband, she came here 33 years ago and took to it to make out here in the wilderness a farm, which was successfully managed. Not only has she left a beautiful farm, but one well-bred family of 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls who are still unmarried, and two of which belong to the Convent in Milwaukee. Among numerous participation of neighbors and friends, the body was laid to rest here yesterday by the St. John Church. May she rest gently in the cool bosom of the Earth.
