Mrs. Cecilia Meyer died Saturday night after a long illness. She and her husband, Wendelin, who preceded her in death several years ago, were counted among our pioneer settlers. 4 children survive. The funeral will be held Wednesday from St. Gregory Church.

Meyer, Cecilia nee Schoch (Nov. 22, 1828-Dec. 26, 1909 –wife of Wendel Meyer [married Reading, Pennsylvania] –born Hausach, Baden –immigrated to the US in 1850 –five children were born to Wendel and Cecilia Meyer before they moved from Reading, Pennsylvania to the St. Nazianz area –in 1877 Wendel and Cecilia purchased the farm at 8412 Glen Flora Road in Section 27, Town of Eaton –Wendel lived here until his death on Nov. 22, 1895 –Cecelia sold this farm to her son Gottfried Meyer on Feb. 6, 1896 and likely lived the remainder of her life with him on this farm –died from “old age”) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 1, Row 12, Lot 15 –stone] [no county death record]
