DROWNED AS HE POSES FOR PICTURE
Montgomery, Ala, Sept 26-While posing on his horse for a picture, Private Harry Deems, of Muncie, Ind., attached to ordnance troops, was thrown into the Alabama rivere today and drowned. The horse became frightened and fell over the river bank.

FORMER KENDALLVILLE BOY DROWNED
Kendallville, Ind., Sept 27-Relatives here recieved word yesterday that Corporal Harry Deems, a former Kendallville boy, was drowned Thursday at Camp Sheridan, Alabama. The body will probably be taken to Muncie, where his mother now resides.
