Helen Ruth Batease died at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH on October 17, 1966 after a brief illness. She was born on September 15, 1919 in Rochester, VT; the daughter of Roy Eldon and Eva Emma (Bingham) Abbey.

She had lived in Claremont for thirty years and had been employed by Sportwelt Shoe of Newport and was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.

She married Archie Richard Cox on January 1, 1939 in Braintree but were later divorced.

She married Fredrick Gorham Batease on April 26, 1944 in Windsor, VT.

She was preceded in death by son Russell Cox.

Surviving is her husband; two sons Kenneth Cox and Bradley Batease both of Claremont; two daughters Beverly Batease and Shirley Batease both of Claremont; one grandson; three brothers Freeman Abbey and Victor Abbey both of Claremont and Donald of Greenfield, MA; and three sisters Mrs Albert Liles and Mrs Herve Beaudry both of Claremont and Mrs Esther Bacon of Charlestown, NH.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
