JOHN G. BISHOP
Was World War I Vet, Member of Alfred Cahill Post
John G. Bishop, a painter in Providence for 28 years, died yesterday at his home, 81 Seymour Street. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Alfred Cahill Post, American Legion.
He was born in New Brunswick, Can., son of Mrs. Laura Bishop, now of Malden, Mass., and the late Clifford W. Bishop. He was the husband of Marie E. (Powers) Bishop.
Besides his wife and his mother, he is survived by five daughters, Miss Louise Bishop, Miss Ann Bishop and Mrs. James Silvia of Providence; Mrs. John Beals of Everett, Mass., and Mrs. Peter Miller of Worcester; a son, William Bishop of Providence; two sisters, Mrs. Winfield McCrory of Plattsburg, N.Y., and Mrs. Vera Grant of Malden, and a brother, Ralph H. Bishop of Danvers, Mass.
A military funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 8:15 from the McMurrough & Todd Funeral Home, 1704 Broad Street, with a requiem Mass in St. Michael's Church, Oxford Street, at 9 o'clock.
Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.
