William Platt, 61, 1764 2nd East, died Monday evening at the family residence of natural causes.

Mr. Platt was born Nov. 28, 1884, in Mona, Juab County, Utah, a son of William Henry and Mary Alice Platt. His boyhood was spent in Mona. In 1905 he moved to Stockton, where he became engaged in metal mining.

He married Hanna May McFarlane, Dec. 10, 1906, and moved to Bingham 10 years later. A year later he moved to Salt Lake City where he began working in the B. and B. department of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad Co. At the time of death he was a foreman.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. F. R. (Reta) Barrett; four sons, William H. Platt, Albany, Cal.; Charles E. Platt, Sacramento; Cecil J. and Ernest A. Platt, both of Salt Lake city; six sisters, Mrs. Sarah Harper, Dividend, Utah county; Mrs. Mary A. Simmons, Payson; Mrs. Nancy McLelland and Mrs Vera Van Alatyne of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Rachel Parks and Mrs Jennie Greenhalg, Midvale; two brothers, James Platt, Mona, and Glen Platt, Salt Lake City, and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 280 E. South Temple Friday at 2 p.m. by Rt. Rev. Arthur W. Moulton, Episcopal bishop of Utah, where friends may call Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday from (?) a.m. to time of services. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial park.
