Youth Dies After Accident
Wayne Brandl, 7, injured when struck in the head by a baseball bat and operated on for emergency brain surgery, died late Thursday night at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
The boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reinhardt Brandl, of Rt. 4, was at a picnic Wednesday afternoon when hit by the bat. He was a second grade student at St. Joseph Catholic
School, Silver Lake. Wayne had been at Holy Family Hospital here but physicians decided to remove him to Green Bay for brain surgery.
The boy was born in this city June 23, 1951. His mother is the former Genevieve Kuehnl
Surviving in addition to the parents are four brothers, (private), two sisters, (private), paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brandl of Rt. 1, Cato, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Theresa Kuehnl of Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Silver Lake. The Rev. D.F. Hurley will officiate and
burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by Father Hurley and Cathlic Knights of Wisconsin. He was a member of this organization.
