Adolph was the son of Dill and Ada Lowry Blue. He married Dorothy Locklear, daughter of Roscoe and Winnie Catherine Maynor Locklear.

The following was taken from the Jun. 27, 2003 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Adolph Blue, 71, of Pembroke, died Wednesday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, the Revs. Robert Ray and Robert Mangum officiating. Burial will follow at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Blue worked at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke for 25 years. He was a past chairman of the Lumbee Regional Development Association board of directors, a member of First United Methodist Church of Pembroke, and was a member of Pembroke Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Dorothy L. Blue, of the home; a son; two grandsons; three sisters, Rena Ludwick of Cherry Lake, Fla., Bernice Lowry of Ocean City, Md., and Alice Wise of Cockeysville, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Revels Funeral Home of Pembroke.
