AKERHIELM, Mrs. Myrtle E. (age 97) - died on April 17, 2005 In Spokane, WA. Mrs. Akerhielm was born February 1, 1908 in Blair, Wisconson, the daughter of Bernt and Signe Mathson Tenneson. She worked as a bookkeeper in Chicago prior to coming to Spokane in 1971. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Spokane. She is survived by her son Ronald Akerhielm of Spokane, daughters Janice Akerhielm of New York, NY., and Marlene A. Lewen of Hinsdale, Ill. She also leaves a sister, Viola Sandburg of Chippewa Falls, Wisc., and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Akerhielm was preceded in death by her husband Irving in 1989 and by two sisters and one brother. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at HAZEN & JAEGER FUNERAL HOME, 1306 N. Monroe, Spokane, WA on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. Committal services will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 314 S. Spruce, Spokane, WA 99204 or Hospice of Spokane, P.O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
