The Richards [Edmund Hendley Sr.], Stewart, Maddox, Jones, Warren, Hodges, England families left Virginia for Tennessee in the 1810-1814 time period. Most of the families settled in Robertson County TN, just north of Nashville; while others settled in Roane and Morgan Counties. These counties were being settled and towns being built
Later, in the years 1828-1830, most of these families went north into Macoupin and Morgan Counties of Illinois; though the Maddox family appears to have stopped off in Kentucky. I've not located where Wilson and Elizabeth lived and died after their move to Kentucky, but sons Jesse and William appear in Macoupin County in the 1840s. Jesse moved on into Monroe County MO [where his brother Edmond & family also lived] briefly before finally taking root in Vernon County MO.
Benjamin's father George followed the pioneer trail into Oregon in the 1870s. His mother was Caroline Chastain Woodson.
Benjamin grew up in Oregon and remained. His first wife, Delilah, passed on in 1893. He later married Mary E. ? in an unknown year. He and Mary had sons:
1. Edward Woodson [1898]
2. Benjamin Richard [1898]
1940 census Douglas County Oregon
Benjamin 77 head, proprietor of grocery store
Mary E. 64
B. Richard 27 son
Marguerite 27 daughter-in-law
Mollie Jean 4 granddaughter
