Last rites for Mrs. Jane Maddox Lancefield,75, member of a pioneer Oregon family, who died Friday night at St. Vincent's Hospital, will be held in the Christian Church of Amity at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow. Mrs. Lancefield spent all but the first ten years of her life in Oregon.
Mrs. Lancefield was born in Missouri September 17, 1855, and crossed the plains to Oregon with her parents in 1865. She was married to Robert W. Lancefield on August 9, 1874. The family lived originally in Forest Grove after coming to Oregon, but eventually settled in Amity.
She is survived by the widower and nine children: Mrs. E. B. Jamison of Hollywood, Cal.; Mrs. H. E. Wilson of Riverside, Cal.; Mrs. Horace E. Thomas and Miss Hilda Lancefield, both of Portland; Lynn Lancefield of Amity, Lloyd Lancefield of Portland, William R. Lancefield of McMinnville, Dr. Donald E. Lancefield of New York City and Dr. Kenneth P. Lancefield f Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. John R. Sawyer of Perrydale, Or., a sister, and Mrs. Woodson Maddox of Rosenburg, also survive her. All Mrs. Lancefield's near kin, except Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Jamison, are expected to attend tomorrow's services.
