Melvin C. Aberegg 53, of Connellsville, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 5:10 P.M. Friday October 17, 1969 at Veterans Hospital, Oakland. He had not been in the best of health for the past several weeks. He was born March 1, 1916, at Mobley, WV, a son of the late Franklin Aberegg and Dessie Wright Aberegg Matthews. His wife the form Alma King, survives.

With the exception of the last five years in Connellsville all his life had been spent in Waynesburg, PA. He was a member of the Wadestown Methodist Church, Wadestown, WV, a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army, was formerly employed by the Greene County Brick and Stone Company and until ill health forced his retirement, was employed by the Eastern Gas and Fuel Company, Grant Town, WV.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Melvin C. Jr. of Pittsburgh, Richard, with the US Marines, Camp Lejeune, NC, and Rodney of Connellsville, three grandchildren,

three half sisters, and two half brothers, Billy Ray Matthews of Aliquippa and Marvin with the US Army in Saigon.
Also surviving is his stepfather, William Matthews of El Monte, California. (clipping Sylvia Sine Whittaker)
