He died Friday, Nov. 7, at Newport News,Va.
He was born in Plymouth, Wis.
He was a retired mechanical engineer with the U.S. Navy; a veteran of World War 1 in the U.S. Army; a member of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church; Newport News resident since 1978; superintendent of the American Can Company, and superintendent of Avondale Marine Company, New Orleans, La.
Survivors are one daughter, Patricia Ann Helfrich, Newport News, Va., and three grandchildren.

NEWSPORT NEWS --- Elmore Walter Fiedler, 88, of 162 Shasta Drive, died Thursday in his home.
He was born in Plymouth, Wis., and had been a Peninsula resident for eight years.
He was a member of Burton Parish Episcopal Church in Williamsburg.
Before he moved to Nerwport News he was superintendent of American Can Company and the Avondale Marine Company, both in New Orleans, La.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ann Helfrich of Newport News; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Burton Parish Episcopal Church by the Rev. Jeffery Dugan of Burton Parish Episcopal Church.
The burial will be in New Orleans, La.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, Department of Neurology, Box 394, University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Va., 22908.
