L. Pauline Deerwester, 94, of Findlay, Ohio died at 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Catherine's Care Center of Findlay. Pauline was born on March 5, 1919 in Somerset County, PA to Robert Earl and Iva Geraldine (Ries) Folk. She married Arthur Franklin McAlexander on November 2, 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 11, 1947. She then married Robert Vernon Deerwester on September 13, 1952 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 1970. She is survived by her children: Karen (John) Fitzpatrick, Findlay, Sharon Costello, Fostoria, Neil (Diane) McAlexander, Findlay and Gary (Barb) Deerwester, Findlay; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Babcock; a granddaughter, Heather Deerwester; a brother, Robert R. Folk and a sister, Doris Roseboom. Pauline was a 1937 graduate of Findlay High school. She was a homemaker and worked in food service at the former Manley Manor and the Heritage House for twelve years. She was a member of United Methodist Women and the Howard United Methodist Church, where she took an active interest in the library. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at KIRKPATRICK-BEHNKE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Jennifer Burns and Marianne Higley officiating. Memorials may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice and/or to Howard United Methodist Church.
