Sharon was a class of 1960 Findlay High School graduate. She attended Bowling Green Practical Nursing School and Marion Technical College where she earned her associate degree in nursing. Sharon retired in 2012 from ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital as a registered nurse after 33 years of service. She was a member of Arcadia United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women organization. In later years, Sharon enjoyed volunteering in Mission Medical Mission, Healthy Ministry, Feed My Kids, Nightingale, and the Red Cross. Her most joy was being surrounded by family and her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her son, Kevin (Karen) Oswald of St. Cloud, FL, daughters, Laureen Westrick of Wauseon, OH, Lisa (Steve) Ames of Senoia, GA, Tina (Brad) Seifert of Apison, TN, and Kimberly Costello-Roy of Oak Harbor, OH; stepdaughter, Candace Gossard of Findlay, OH; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Neil (Diane) McAlexander of Findlay; and sister, Karen (John) Fitzpatrick of Findlay. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Charline Babcock; and brother, Gary Deerwester.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services will begin at 12 noon Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Erma Metzger officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
