OBITUARY:
CRAIGLEITH FARMER'S DEATH
After an illness of three weeks, Mr. George Campbell, who has been a farmer in the vicinity of Craigleith for many years died on his homestead Wednesday. He was in his seventy-fourth year and has spent the greater part of his life on the farm on which he died. Mr. Campbell came to Craigleith when the farms were forests. He settled on the third line and converted his portion of Collingwood into a fine farm.
His wife, Miss Flora Currie, sister of Mr. H.A Currie of Collingwood died about three years ago, and since, Mr. Campbell has resided with his son, Charles, who is operating the homestead. Besides Charles there are two other boys, one in the west and one in Meaford. There are also two daughters in California and one - Mrs. Thomas Martin - in Wiarton.
Mr. Campbell was of a fine type. He was sturdy and having passed through the pioneer life, knew all the privations and trials of that period. He believed in fair dealing and always enjoyed the respect of all his acquaintances. He was a Presbyterian and his funeral which took place to the Collingwood Cemetery on Wednesday, was conducted by his pastor, Rev M.N. Bethune.
