William Albert Guolee
June 17, 1932 - March 15, 2013

William Albert Guolee passed away on March 15, 2013 at Arden Hills, Minnesota under the care of Hospice. Bill was born June 17, 1932 in Bundy, WI, to William and Laura(Olson) Guolee.

At the age of 17 Bill joined the Army and was a paratrooper from 1949-1953. He was in the 82nd Airborne Division stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. Upon his honorable discharge Bill returned to Rhinelander and worked at the paper mill. He was on the paint crew.

During this time Bill was very active in sports. He was the head referee for the Muni League basketball games. He bowled on the paper mill team, "The Bowling Painters". He played football for the Rhinelander Red Dogs. He played snowshoe baseball for Boom Bay Bar. He played hard ball, slow pitch and fast pitch baseball for Patty Deau's and the Rustic Aire, among others. He was a pitcher and earned the nickname "Wild Bill".

Bill and Jennie(Hedman) moved to Minnesota and were married on August 8, 1964. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage. While in the Twin Cities Bill worked for the Federal Reserve Bank as a Security/training officer, retiring in 1993. He received several expert marksmanship awards.

For many years Bill had his hunting cabin in Bundy. He enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, four wheeling, country music and the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed playing golf where he was a member of Edgewater Country Club in Tomahawk. He played on the men's Thursday night league. He also enjoyed traveling, making several trips to Nevada, and other states in the West.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Harold, and his sister Lorraine (Toots) Jacobs.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie, his mother-in-law and his three children, sister Leona "Dolly" Ament of Bundy, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

Funeral services for Bill will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Carlson Funeral Home with Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Visitation for Bill will be held on Tuesday March 19, 2013 from 4-7 PM and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, all at the funeral home. Internment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery at a later date. The Carlson Funeral Home(715-369-1414) is assisting the family with the arrangements.
