Last Rites For Held Sunday Beloved Woman Sunday Afternoon.
Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Abrocrombie Boney, beloved Aiken resident, who died Saturday morning at the residence of her sister, Mrs. R. W. McCreary with whom she made her home, were conducted at 3:30 Sunday afternoon from the residence on Laurens Street.
The Rev. W. Fred Harris officiated and interment followed in Bethany cemetery.
Mrs. Boney was found dead in bed at 7:30 Saturday morning.
She had enjoyed excellent health and her death was a great shock to her many friends.
She was born in Russell county, Alabama, and after her marriage resided for a number of years at York. She later moved to Rock Hill where she made her residence until the last 18 months when she moved to Aiken to reside with her sister. She was a prominent civic Ieader in the state and at time of her death held membership in the Methodist church in Rock Hill.
Surviving are one-step daughter, Mrs. S. E. Colvin, Greenville; three; step-sons, Adolphus Boney, York, Ellie Boney, New York and Walter Boney, Texas; one sister, Mrs. R. W. McCreary and a number of nieces and nephews, including Ernest A. McCreary and Mrs. Haskell Shuler and Mrs. Wilbur Driver all of Aiken.
