Mr. James Redd Abercrombie, who formerly resided in Aiken, and was well known throughout this section as a citizen of worth, died at the University Hospital in Augusta last Thursday morning, aged 49 years.
Mr. Abercombie is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hattie Abercombie; a son, Edward; two sisters, Mrs D. K. Boney, of York, S. C., and Mrs. R. W. McCreary, of Aiken, who have the sympathy of the community in their sorrow.
Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon, from the First Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. McLean officiating in the presence of a large gathering, among which were the members of the K. of P. Lodge. No. 25 of Aiken, of which the deceased was a member.
Interment was made in Bethany Cemetery.
