ORMSBY - Services for Irvin C. Benge, 91, lifelong resident of Waverly, Galena townships and Martin County, will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, at Waverly Lutheran Church of rural Trimont, with military honors at the church cemetery.
He died Monday, April 22, 2013, at a VA-affiliated hospital in Grantsburg, Wis. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James.
Irvin Carol Benge was born Jan. 26, 1922, on the family farm east of Ormsby, Minn., to Alfred and Margaret (Fishburn) Benge. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942, serving during World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Celeste; daughters, Linda, Leanne, Lynette and Laurie; son, Scott; and 12 grandchildren.
