Myra L. Leonhard, age 78 of 1420 Hawthorne Ave. Two Rivers, died peacefully Friday morning, Dec. 5, 2003 at the Hamilton Memorial Home, after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Holy Redeemer Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Wm. G. O'Brien, with burial to follow in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 310 Manitowoc. Myra was born Oct. 23, 1925 in St. Nazianz, a daughter of the late George and Ida (Loos) Loessl, and attended school in St. Nazianz. On Oct. 30, 1948, she married Clemens Leonhard at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, St. Nazianz. Myra was a longtime member of the Ladies of St. Mark's, now Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman; Two Rivers Senior Center; and loved to play cards, especially sheepshead. She also enjoyed making rag rugs, and patchwork quilts in her spare time. Survivors include her husband: Clem; two daughters and a son-in-law: Mary and Jeff Gehler, and Kathryn Leonhard, Two Rivers; four sons and two daughters-in-law: Mark and Diane Leonhard, Manitowoc; James Leonhard and Thomas Leonhard, Two Rivers; Paul and Shelly Leonhard, Valders; 11 grandchildren: Jacob and Gennisa Gehler, Christine, Kimberly, Allison, Andrew, Alex, Stephanie, Dylan, Haley, and Nathan Leonhard. She is further survived by one sister: Jeanette Diedrich, Kiel; one brother: Nicholas Loessl, Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law, and five sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Herzog. Friends may call at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Holy Redeemer Site, after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Peter the Fisherman Parish Building Fund. Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers is assisting the Leonhard family with funeral arrangements. The Leonhard family extends a sincere thank you to Dr.Yetter, Dr. Barylak, and the staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic for the care and kindness shown to our family.
