Hortense Kendell Love was born June 26, 1912, on the Kendell farm in Mercer county, south of Princeton, to David and Lulu (Benson) Kendell, and died Sunday, June 21, 1992 at the home of her daughter in Webster Groves.

Mrs. Love attended the West Pine one-room school house and graduated from Princeton High School. She later attended Stephens College in Colombia.

Mrs. Love made her home and raised her children in Jefferson City. She was a Claims Representative with Jefferson city Social Security Administration until she retired in 1977.

For several years her daughter, Maureen, and her son-in-law James, shared their home with Mrs. Love. She enjoyed being closely involved with family activities, especially the Kendell family reunions held in Arrow Rock.

Mrs. Love was member of the Kirkwood Baptist Church in Kirkwood, where she was a member of the F.A.F.F. group and enjoyed many church activities.

She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Hall, son-in-law, James Hall of Webster Groves; two granddaughters, Terre Tepikian of Valparaiso, Ind., and Tracy Parker of Effingham Ill.; her daughter-in-law, Carol Love of St. Louis; two grandsons, Jeffrey Love of Silver Spring Md. and Gary Love of St Louis; and one great-granddaughter, Megan Parker of Effingham,Ill.
