ELMER KOEPPEN

Elmer R. Koeppen, 52, of Route 1, Kiel, died December 7 at Bellin Memorial Hospital, Green Bay, where he was a patient for three days.
He was born May 30, 1925, in the town of Meeme, a son of Christian and Alvina Schmidt Koeppen. He attended Woodland School in the township and was employed as a carpenter for the Burger Boat Company, Manitowoc. On June 29, 1946 he married the former Olive Karsteadt. The couple settled on the Koeppen home farm in the town of Meeme after their marriage. Mrs. Koeppen died March 27, 1968. On August 18, 1968 he married Joan Zoch Hebert in Fond du Lac. Mr. Koeppen was a member of the congregation of Jehovah Witness and an elder of the congregation in Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Alan Long, De Pere, and Miss Debra, at home; three sons, James, Mayville, and Michael and Karl, both at home; five grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Arno Wagner and Mrs. Allen Schwartz, both of rural Kiel.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. Orville Stephani officiated. Burial was in Knollwood Memorial Garden, Town of Kossuth.
