Last rites for Herbert W. Koeppen who died of a heart attack here Monday, will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners east of Kiel. Rev. Adelbert Schultz, pastor will officiate, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.
Born on a Town of Meeme farm near School Hill, Aug. 27, 1911, he was a son of Christian and Alvina Schmidt Koeppen, who still lived on the home farm, R. 1, Kiel. He attended district school and was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church Louis Corners, of which he was a lifelong member.
He married Rose Burkard of St. Nazianz, June 21, 1938, following which the couple lived in Sheboygan.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Lloyd, in the US Army, stationed at the Aberdeen (Md) Proving Grounds; his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Arno Wagner, R. 2, Kiel and Mrs. Allen Schwartz, R. 1, Kiel and a brother, Elmer, R. 1, Kiel. A brother, Marvin died in 1937.
