REFORM Raymond "Red" House, age 88, of Reform, died April 20, 2013, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lera Higdon House; his parents; four brothers, Lewood, Adolph, Herbert, and A.J. House; three sisters, Lorene H. Herring, Dawn H. Chesnutt, and Louise H. McAdams; and one niece, Pamolyn C. Chesnutt.

Survivors include his wife, Irene J. House; his daughter, Mary Alice House Roberts; three grandchildren, Erica Jo Fair, Alexis Michelle Bailey (Chad), and Raymond Patrick Fair; two great-grandchildren, Fisher Bailey and Gabby Bailey; several nieces and nephews; and one special friend, Charlie Byars, whom he considered the son he never had.

Mr. House was born January 8, 1925, in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Adam Jefferson "Ad" House and Lizzie Alexander House. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division and retired from Dixie Steel & Supply and McAbee Construction Company. Red was a member of Arbor Springs Baptist Church and the House-Dean VFW Post, an honorary member of the Boys & Girls Ranches of Alabama, and a life long resident of Pickens County.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Byars, Odie McCrackin, Jimmy Bonner, Herbert "Brother" House, Adam House, and Andrew House.

Honorary pallbearers are Lee Turk, Buzz Miller, Pee Wee Sparks, former employees of Dixie Steel & Supply Company and McAbee Construction Company, Dr. Dirk Berry, Dr. Jeffery Anderson, Dr. Craig Buettner, Dr. Lorenza Royal Sr. of the VA Medical Center, other physicians and medical staff of DCH Regional Medical Center too numerous to mention, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice, and all of his lifelong friends and neighbors of Pickens County.
