Lilly Bugg was the only child of Sarah Elizabeth "Sallie" Woods Bugg and Earl Breen Bugg. She was the wife of Warren Edward Wingfield. They were married October 16, 1947 in Franklin County, Arkansas and lived in Barling near Lilly's childhood home after she and her family were removed for the establishment of Fort Chaffee. Lilly loved family history and wrote many articles for local newspapers including the Greenwood Democrat. She attended Maness School as a child and was dedicated to building's preservation. She was a long standing board member for Steep Hill Cemetery.

OBITUARY

Lilly Bugg Wingfield, 86, of Barling, AR, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Barling. She was born June 19, 1926 in Maness, Arkansas to the late Earl and Sallie Bugg. She was a historian, a newspaper columnist for the Greenwood Democrat and wrote a column called Along the Old Greenwood Road for 30 plus years, was a member of the Barling United Methodist Church where she played the piano, was a founding member of the Home Demonstration club, and she taught many children how to play piano. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Wingfield.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Barling United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Steep Hill Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, AR.

The family will visit with friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2013 before the service at Barling United Methodist Church.
