BARLING — Warren "Wimpy" Wingfield, 79, of Barling died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born May 23, 1924, in Sebastian County. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, was retired from Mercury Motors and Ryder Truck Lines and was a member of the Barling Volunteer Fire Department and the Barling Senior Citizens. He was of the Second Adventist faith. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Steep Hill Cemetery south of Fort Smith under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. He is survived by his wife, Lilly; and a sister, Mary Miller of Barling. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
