Ruth A. Kienetz, age 89 of Appleton, formerly of Brillion, died Saturday, April 27 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. She was born April 23, 1924 in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Henry and Leonora (Knuth) Maertz. Ruth married Hugo Kienetz on May 25, 1946 In Kasson.

She attended The County Normal School where she received her teaching degree. She taught in a rural school near Mishicot. Ruth and Hugo moved to Brillion where Ruth worked at the Brillion Iron Works until her retirement at the age of 78. Ruth also cared for many elderly persons after her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion and the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her two sons, Michael (Linda) Kienetz of Muskego, Mitchell (Holly) Kienetz of Appleton and a daughter Michele (Terry) Hawkins of Fremont, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Hugo and two brothers Hubert and Leonard.
Funeral services will be held at NOON on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion with the Rev. Jonathan Bourman officiating. Entombment will be in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion on Wednesday, May 1 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
