"Alvina Marie Shay, age 86 years, of Manitou Beach, formerly of Clayton, passed away March 13,1999 in the Lynwood Manor in Adrian. She was born September 18, 1912 in Van Wert, Ohio, the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth (Boberg) Dunlap. She lived in the Clayton Area most of her life, moving to Devils Lake in 1975. She married Leroy Glenn Shay in 1934. He preceded her in death December 25, 1980. Mrs. Shay attended the Clayton Bible Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Surviving are two daughters, Shirley A. Hall of Manitou Beach and Donna Jean (Ronald) Suydam of Clayton; one son, Larry Richard (Judy) Shay of Fayette, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and by 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 grandson, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. John H. Deline officiating. Interment will be made in the Dover Center Cemetery near Clayton. The visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday.
