The Husband of Irene E. McNeely of the home, he was born Sept. 21 1918, in Virginia to the late George Lester McNeely and the late Lena Motley McNeely.
McNeely was a member of Granberry United Methodist Church and Moountain Valley-Leatherwood Recreation Club. He served in the Army during World War and was retired from Sprint-Centel.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Ronnie G McNeely, Gary D McNeely, Larry G McNeely, all of Martinsville; three brothers, Billy McNeely, and Bobby McNeely, both of Martinsville, and Walter McNeely of Fieldale; five sisters, Roslyn Ashby and Aileen Eanes, both of Martinsville, Betty Reynolds of Callands, Louise Harmon of Eden, N.C., and Violet Lantz of Cleveland, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKee-Stone Funeral Service chapel. The Revs. Nike Derflinger and Donald Reynolds will officiate.
Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 8:30 pm today at the funeral home.
