"Mrs. Bertha R. Bourcier passed away early Monday, March 10, 1980, at St. Francis Home, after a lingering illness. Age 76 years. Bertha Nachtweih was born Sept. 11, 1903 in Saginaw, where she resided all of her life. She was married to Louis F. Bourcier, Oct. 1, 1925, in Saginaw. He predeceased her July 31, 1964. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, its Altar Society, and the Saginaw County League of Catholic Women. Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Thomas (Ruth) Moore, Glendale, AZ; Mrs. James (Barbara) Shelton; Mrs. Thomas (Joanne) Lowe; George M. Bourcier; and Joseph C. Bourcier, all of Saginaw; also a niece, Mrs. Wilma Ray, of Saginaw, whom she raised; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Frank Nachtweih, Anaheim,CA; Pearl Nachtweih, Bay City. Five brothers, two sisters and one grandson, Joseph predeceased her.
Funeral service will take place 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Deisler Brothers Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquianas Catholic Church. Rev. William Gulas, O.F.M., will officiate, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Hemmeter after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday where they will meet with relatives at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday for a prayer service. The Knights of Columbus Council No. 4232 will pray the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Those who so desire may make memorials to St. Francis Home."
