Announcement of the marriage of Miss Ethel Grubb and Hugh Straight both of this city which took place in Oakland, Md last Staurday has been made. After a short honeymoon trip, Mr and Mrs Straight will reside with the bride's parents on Main Street. Mrs. Straight is the oldest (living) daughter of Mr and Mrs J.N. Grubb of this City and is a graduate of Mannington High and Fairmonth Business College. Mr Straight is the son of Mr and Mrs. Luther Straight of Stringtown and is employed at Bowers Pottery.
Ethel Grubb and Hugh Straight were married 51 years and 1 day when Hugh died. Ethel died on August 7, 1999 in Capital Health Systems at Mercer Medical of complications of cardiac disease and cancer. The death certificate lists cause of death as "Mastisized Colon Cancer" Ethel was 93 years 1 month and 7 days of age.
Ethel was buried in Ewing Church Cemetery with Hugh on August 11,1999. Saul Colonail Memorial Home on Nottingham Way in Hamilton Square, NJ handled the arrangements.
