Fay Hammons Wright, 79, wife to Allen F. Wright, since June 27, 1950, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at her home. Fay was born June 15, 1933 in Scott County, Kentucky to the late Goebel and Zelma Morris Hammons Sr. She was a member of Long Lick Baptist Church, a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, a former Cub Scout Den Mother, and retired after 25 years with Kroger.


In addition to her husband she is survived by a son; Steve Wright of Georgetown, a daughter; Barbara Wright of Georgetown, three grandchildren; Terry Alan (Shawna) Herrington II, Sarah Lynn Wright, Brian Allen Wright, two great grandchildren; Emma Marie Herrington and Mattie Elizabeth Marie Herrington, brothers; Bobby Hammons of Georgetown, Gerald Hammons of Carlisle, sisters; Carolyn Hill Norris, of Georgetown, Judy Richardson of Georgetown and Melody Cameron, mother of Mattie. She is also survived by sister-in-laws; Jean Hammons, Rose Hammons, Willetta Hammons, Carol Dean Hammons, Carol Hammons and a brother-in-law-, John Richardson. She was preceded in death by a grandson; Matthew Allen Herrington and brothers; Gobel Hammons Jr., Harold Hammons, Paul Hammons, Donald Hammons and Billy Hammons.


Funeral services will be 11am Friday, April 26, 2013 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Redmon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens with pall bearers being; Earl Sageser, Charlie Hoffman Sr., Kenneth Wasson, Jimmy Carr, Terry Herrington II, Brian Wright. Honorary bearers will be; Verna Ryker, Robert Fulkerson, Donald Jones, Rush Cassity, Darrin Hill, Jerold Wright and Robert McIntosh.
