Billy S. Hammons
May 3, 1939 - October 15, 2010 Billy S. Hammons, 71, husband of Carol Green Hammons, passed away October 15, 2010. He was born in Scott County, Kentucky on May 3, 1939 to the late Goebel Hammons, Sr. and the late Zelma Morris Hammons.

He was a graduate of Scott County High School, class of 1957. He retired from IBM in Lexington where he worked for 28 years. He was a veteran of the Army in which he served for 6 years. He was a member of Stonewall Baptist Church and attended Jordan Baptist Church.

Along with his wife he is survived by his son, Billy D. Hammons and daughter Darline Hammons Feltner both of Georgetown. 4 grandchildren, David Scott Feltner, Lisa Marie (John) Shipley, Amanda and Amber DuFour, 3 great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Justin, and Madison Shipley. Brothers, Bobby Hammons of Georgetown and Gerald Hammons of Nicholas County. Sisters, Faye Wright of Stamping Ground, Carolyn Norris of Georgetown, and Judy Richardson also of Georgetown, along with 2 special sisters-in- law, Virginia Hammons and Willetta Hammons of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by brothers Goebel Hammons, Jr., Harold Hammons, Paul Hammons, and Donald Hammons.

Visitation will be held at Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, October 17th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Services will be held at Tucker, Yocum, and Wilson Funeral Home on Monday October 18th at 1:30 pm with Pastor Tony Hearld and Rev. Chester Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery with pallbearers John Shipley, Randy Inman, David Green, Tommy Hammons, Charles Jackson, and Shea Wallen. Honorary Pallbearers are his brothers and sisters.
