Widow of Early German Citizens Victim of Apoplexy.

Mrs. Francisca Metzler, 119 North New Jersey street, widow of John Metzler, one of the earliest German citizens of Indianapolis, died at 3 a.m., to-day. She had been sick for many years but the immediate cause of death was apoplexy. She had only one stroke and death followed immediately.
She was nearly sixty-three years old, and was born in Bavaria, Germany. She came from her home in Germany direct to this city, fifty years ago. She wa a member of the Women's Society of St. Mary's church. She leaves a son, Albert Metzler, who has been connected with the Park Theater for ten years, and five daughters, Miss Emma Metzler, Mrs. T. B. Hessling, Mrs. Wm. Brezette, Miss Clara Metzler, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. John Winters, of Cincinnati, whose husband is lieutenant of police in that city. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Margaret Sherer, of Indianapolis. The funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Mary's church.
